Everything You Need to Know About Digital Fashion Week NY

Today's RADAR by RED-EYE newsletter is dedicated to the fast evolving world of digital fashion, which is gearing up for an electrifying return to the Big Apple, promising an extraordinary blend of traditional showcases and groundbreaking Web3 immersive experiences with Digital Fashion Week NY (DFWNY). This pivotal event, set at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), is positioned at the forefront of the evolving fashion narrative, bridging the realms of physical and online (URL) experiences with hybrid fashion shows, immersive exhibitions, live panels, and networking events. In collaboration with FIT's Design and Technology Lab, DFWNY will offer attendees a peek into the future of fashion, showcasing innovative designers, runway shows, and immersive experiences.

A highlight of this year's Digital Fashion Week is the debut of the world's first live motion capture hologram runway show, brought to life by Future Front Row. This avant-garde presentation will feature digital avatars mimicking the fluid movements of models in real-time, setting a new benchmark for innovation on the runway. Designers Stephy Fung, Suza Vos x Harriet Davey, and Mutani will showcase their collections in this groundbreaking format. Furthermore, the phygital runway shows by Right Direction, Loreine, Nextberries and Phygicode by Bartholomew NYC will blend digital and physical fashion elements, offering a seamless, layered experience that encompasses augmented reality, digital twins, and traditional runway collections.

Clare Tattersall, the visionary founder of Digital Fashion Week, is thrilled to push the boundaries of what's possible in fashion. "Digital Fashion Week is excited to showcase the cutting-edge innovators and visionary designers through immersive experiences that redefine the essence of fashion in the digital age, particularly with the introduction of the first-ever live motion capture hologram fashion show," she stated.
