In your unique artworks, you explore the intersection of fashion and art through 3D illustrations that showcase a blend of style, technique, and expertise. How did your journey as a freelance designer lead you to express your love for clothing through such intricate and visionary creations, particularly using Maxon Cinema 4D?

I don’t consider myself a professional fashion designer, nor have I systematically learned the knowledge of fashion design. It all started with my interest in fashion. I think interest is the best teacher. It is because of this non-professional experience that my creation is more free and disorderly, and I combine all the styles I have mastered, so I get a lot of very cool results.

The series "Exploration – Anthropomorphism" delves into future clothing concepts with influences from medieval costumes, battle gear, and avant-garde fashion. Could you share the inspiration behind this thematic exploration and how you envision fashion evolving in the years and decades to come based on your artistic interpretations?

I like to watch all kinds of information on the Internet, especially science and art related content. I didn't do it with a purpose, but I did get quite a bit of inspiration in the process. So sometimes. I created a certain topic because I have been reading or learning about it recently. I like to create randomly without presets. As for the evolution of fashion in the future, I hope to see some bold changes, which may have a deeper integration with technology. People abandon the traditional textile, digital clothing is popular, it is like VR attached to the skin, can be arbitrarily switched shape, material, color, everything.

Your work embodies a fusion of form, shape, color, and texture, creating visually captivating pieces that seemingly transcend traditional boundaries between art and fashion. How do you approach the process of conceptualizing and designing these elaborate and distinctive 3D illustrations that convey your artistic vision so eloquently?

As mentioned above, because I don’t consider myself a professional fashion designer, I can completely ignore those so-called fashion design rules, just enjoy expressing my heart and thoughts. I like to connect all kinds of unrelated things. The whole process is completely random, there is no draft, I will change the original Settings at any time, and will also temporarily add sudden inspiration.

Fashion plays a central role in your artistry, with a particular emphasis on bringing forth exaggerated clothing art inspired by your passion for garments. Can you elaborate on how your personal affinity for clothes intertwines with your artistic expression, and how this connection influences the storytelling aspect of your creations?

Whether it's fashion or artistic creation, they are very important things in my life. Beyond that, I have no other passion. So inevitably, they must be intertwined and very tight. Just like on social platforms, some people show their cooking skills, some people show their travels, some people show their knowledge and so on. When love becomes a part of life, I think I am at a step where I no longer tell a story, I am showing my life.

The intricate details and avant-garde elements in your artworks exude a sense of whimsical charm and creative audacity. What challenges do you face when translating your imaginative concepts into tangible 3D renderings, and how do you navigate the fine line between pushing artistic boundaries and maintaining coherence within your designs?

Sometimes there are some technical problems, 3D software is not perfect, these software have certain limitations. So sometimes the end result is not necessarily what I thought it would be, it depends on the tools I use. How to strike a balance depends on the nature of the work. If a piece belongs to something other than me, I will keep thinking rationally, and the balance will tilt toward coherence of design. But if it's personal work, I'll go 100 percent to art.

Your exploration into future clothing styles and materials reflects a forward-thinking perspective on fashion that combines elements of speculation, innovation, and creativity. Could you delve deeper into the thematic significance of envisioning sartorial possibilities that transcend present-day conventions and the impact such artistic projections may have on shaping the future of fashion?

I think there's a certain shackle in fashion today, and it's been a long time since we've seen anything revolutionary. That's why the word "retro" comes up so often. I don't think this is a backward step for practitioners and the industry, in fact, this is a common problem facing the whole society - the technology explosion. The development of our human technology

is not linear, but leaps and bounds. History has shown that there is a point at which technology leaps forward and a point at which it stagnates. So the future of fashion will also produce a lot of unprecedented things with the next "technology explosion". I don't know when, but I'm looking forward to it.

You have showcased a mastery of technology in bringing your artistic visions to life. What specific softwares influenced your creative process, and in what ways do you believe digital tools empower artists like yourself to explore new realms of design and expression within the contemporary art scene?

I use Marvelous Designer to create costumes, detail processing in Zbursh, and finally render realistic effects in Cinema 4D. It's hard to say which one is specific, because they're all important. If artists want to expand their field and try more things, then digital software is very necessary. Technology can drive art and inject fresh blood into art.

Your projects on Behance display a distinctive blend of charm, innovation, and playfulness, inviting viewers into a world where creativity knows no bounds. Can you walk us through the narrative threads that connect your diverse fashion-centric artworks, and how each piece contributes to the overarching story you aim to communicate through your portfolio?

Emotionally speaking, there is no complete story line. Because every creation is a random event, I start from an inspiration and complete a series of works. But from a technical point of view, there are patterns. Because the further I study, the more skills I master, the more things I can try. Therefore, in the early stage, the content I created was relatively simple, while in the later stage, I added more and richer expressions.

The themes of medieval aesthetics, battle imagery, and avant-garde fashion elements are palpable in your artworks, infusing them with a sense of historical intrigue and futuristic allure. How do you balance these diverse influences to create a cohesive artistic identity, and what message or emotion do you strive to convey to your audience through this juxtaposition of past and future styles?

I often use different angles, but I always keep my belief, which is the key to my balance.

I am an optimist who is often pessimistic, which sounds paradoxical. Because I often get disappointed with life and some conflict or tragedy that happens in society, but I never give up believing that everything will change for the better. This is also the sentiment I want to convey, to stay optimistic and never give up!

As an independent artist living in Hefei, China, your creative journey unfolds at the intersection of personal passion and professional dedication. How does your cultural background and local environment inform your artistic sensibilities, and what aspects of your surroundings do you draw inspiration from when embarking on new projects that challenge and redefine traditional perceptions of art and design?

I grew up in rural China. Plants, animals, mountains and rivers have always accompanied me. I think it is because of this experience of being close to nature that I am in awe of nature and of life. I used to take inspiration from nature, hanging out in the woods below the mountain and by the river. I think life itself is art, you can see all the life in nature has a unique form, color, they are so beautiful, and can also find in nature all the things I expect. I summarize what I've seen and heard and present it to the audience.
