The Alchemy of Sound and Soul: Giudi's Journey Through Chemical Wedding
In a world where music often skirts the surface of emotion, Giudi’s latest album, Chemical Wedding, plunges deep into the realms of ancient alchemy, personal transformation, and the frequencies that connect us all. With themes that traverse the dualities of light and dark, masculine and feminine, the album unfolds as both an introspective odyssey and a sonic experiment in healing. Through her integration of targeted frequencies and raw storytelling, Giudi invites listeners to not only hear her music but feel it resonate within their own narratives.
Our editorial collaboration, lensed by Eliska Sky, captures the ethereal yet grounded essence of Chemical Wedding. Together, we delve into the inspirations behind the album, its symbolic layers, and the deeply personal experiences that shaped it. From tender piano ballads to electrifying hyper-pop, Giudi’s ability to unify opposites mirrors her journey of finding balance amidst life’s extremes. This is not just an album; it’s a reflection of the artist’s soul—raw, honest, and transformative.
In this interview, Giudi speaks candidly about the healing power of frequencies, the poignant story behind her song “Icarus,” and the synchronicities that brought this collaboration to life. Through her words, music, and visuals, Giudi reminds us that art, like alchemy, has the power to transform pain into beauty and unify the fragmented pieces of ourselves. Welcome to the union that is Chemical Wedding.

Chemical Wedding draws from the magic and alchemy of ancient times. What first drew you to these themes, and how did they shape the creative process?
At some point I’ve realised that in all the creative processes of mine I seek for a deeper meaning, symbolism, philosophical thoughts, or try to express different dimensions of consciousness and unconsciousness from my own perspective.
The album explores dualities like light and darkness, and masculine and feminine. How do these opposites manifest in your music and visuals?
Shall we say I can write a classical piano ballad and next hyper-pop techno, but the thing is I am most happy with is if those two contrasting worlds can connect in one track and I can just create a unity that works, by just playing around.

How do you hope listeners will interpret and connect with the targeted healing frequencies embedded in the tracks?
We are all made up of frequencies, our bodies resonate and as well respond to certain frequencies levels. It’s a fact based on scientific studies. I personally benefit from solfeggio frequencies to heal or calm my physical, emotional, mental and spiritual body and I’ve felt it’s a right time to intentionally use those powerful frequencies as well in the music I create. I enjoy the idea of incorporating those frequencies in the more pop-structured song.
You’ve described the album as both a closing of an important chapter and a new beginning. Can you share more about this personal transformation?
The last two years of my life have seen the most beautiful and the most painful things that can ever happen to anyone. The intensity of these contrasting emotions were overwhelming. I needed to find a balance within myself so I’ve started to design my own harmony between light and dark, smooth and sharp, between healing and falling into a million pieces at the same time. I believe our process of healing is a never-ending process, but I felt it’s a time for me to share my experience and my music that comes from this experience. It’s a circle.

What was the most challenging or rewarding part of this introspective journey?
The most challenging thing was to decide the date I’ll leave my safe shell and kind of hibernation and get everything organised to make this album release and everything around happen. It was like going from 0 to 1000 in one second. Nothing or everything.
Are there specific moments or songs in the album that feel especially personal or pivotal to you?
Oh yeah. Honestly I can say all of them are my favourite ones, sounds like a cliche, but only I know the amount of energy and my attention even to the smallest detail and the tiny sounds and breaths on the album that you can or actually even cannot perceive i gave to each song. But there are definitely songs like Icarus, that I wrote about my very personal loss experience that just broke my heart and so I wrote a soft tender ballad to my first unborn child.

You mentioned that the album encourages listeners to discover their personal stories mirrored in the music. Have any listener reactions or stories surprised or moved you?
Yes. I need to say I have very unique and deep-minded listeners. Some of them share their personal experience with me or simply write to me thankful messages that my music helped them in certain hard situations. There are some people that have got tattooed with the lyrics of my songs, that was the most touching feedback I’ve ever had I guess.
What advice would you give to someone embarking on their own journey of growth and healing?
Seek deep inside of you the light and all the answers. Be kind to yourself but also to others. Love is always the answer.

How did the collaboration with Eliska Sky for this editorial align with the themes of Chemical Wedding?
That’s a really nice story. I live in south Italy and one day I was walking in the centre of Lecce and I see the billboards of the Teatro Koreja program with Eliska SKY photography, it was everywhere around the city. I was like oh wow, it’s so cool. A few days later my phone rings and it’s the program manager of that theatre telling me they are organising Eliska’s exhibition in Lecce and asking me if I would be interested to sing at this event… Of course, it’s an honour I said. And that’s how we met and the rest came about very organically. I really believe it was meant to be to meet Eliska, because she is such a lovely person and very capable woman and amazing artist.
Did the visual storytelling in the editorial bring new dimensions or interpretations to your music?
Definitely yes. I'm a very visual person. Actually I wrote a song about this. It’s on the album and it’s called ‘Ode to Minds’ and it’s about the perceptual phenomenon called synesthesia. It’s not a disease or disorder, it’s a real condition. And it’s so much fun :)

As an artist, how do you balance deeply personal expression with creating something universal that resonates with others?
I try to always be very honest and straightforward with my personal expression and I simply create my authentic feelings. It looks simple, but that’s what I find the most difficult, being loyal to our inner-core. Finding who we really are and then it’s like flirting with our essential being, but also this is a constantly changing process. We are constantly changing with every experience in our life and so it's forever a fun process.
If you could describe Chemical Wedding in one word or phrase, what would it be and why?
The union.
