We Went to Sip Tea at Jacquemus New Boutique Opening in London

After making waves with his New York store, Simon Porte Jacquemus brings his signature Mediterranean charm to London’s New Bond Street with the launch of his first flagship in the UK. Located in the heart of Mayfair, the store is set in a historic building that once housed an art gallery, blending traditional Victorian architecture with contemporary design by OMA. We were there to experience the opening, captured through the lens of Simran Kaur.

Spanning four levels and covering 332 square meters, the store is a sleek yet welcoming escape from the bustling streets of central London. The interior balances clean, angular lines with softer curves, echoing Jacquemus’ aesthetic. Neutral tones dominate, punctuated by his signature banana yellow, creating a sun-soaked ambiance that feels like a slice of Provence in the city. Each detail has been meticulously curated, offering an elevated yet relaxed shopping experience.

The store layout offers a clear journey through the world of Jacquemus: a dedicated floor for menswear, another for womenswear, and a private VIP salon on the top level with its own discreet entrance. The space doubles as a gallery, featuring nearly 50 art pieces and design objects, including Josef Hoffmann armchairs, whimsical mermaid sketches by Henry Laurens, and ceramics from Astier de Villatte. It’s a celebration of the artisanal and the unexpected, much like the brand itself.

Adding a quintessentially British touch, the store’s opening included a tea service — a playful nod to local traditions, yet done in true Jacquemus fashion. It created a warm, welcoming atmosphere where guests could unwind, browse, and appreciate the space at their own pace.

Simran Kaur’s photos beautifully capture the energy of the launch: a mix of London’s fashion elite and devoted Jacquemus fans, all enjoying this new chapter for the brand. If you’re in the area, make sure to visit the New Bond Street flagship — a perfect fusion of French flair and London sophistication.
