LACOSTE FW24/25 | The Epic Victory of 1927
The enduring charm of Lacoste marks its triumphant comeback to the heart of Paris Fashion Week for Autumn-Winter 2024-2025, set against the iconic backdrop of Roland Garros. This season, the fashion house not only commemorates the legendary 1927 triumph but also honors the visionary brilliance of its founder, René Lacoste.
Under the boundless creativity of Pelagia Kolotouros, Creative Design Director, the collection brings back the soul of the Roaring Twenties. In that golden age, René Lacoste, known as 'the crocodile', dominated the world of tennis while Paris shone as a hub of art and creativity.
At the heart of the collection lies the original Lacoste crocodile illustration, crafted by René and artist Robert George in 1927, now reimagined in contemporary dimensions. Adorned with lively graphics on sleek silhouettes, the crocodile emerges as a unique design feature across the range, from silver sequins embellishing lace dresses and tank tops to the Pop Art-infused jacquard adorned with motifs from the Davis Cup.
René Lacoste's legendary history takes shape through revamped tailoring proportions, elegantly blending delicate fit contrasts into a unique silhouette. Pleated skirts, reminiscent of tennis champion Suzanne Lenglen's style, combine harmoniously with utilitarian jackets and sporty tops, creating a fluid and progressive look. Meanwhile, double-breasted cashmere coats evoke the victorious and timeless heritage of the Lacoste brand.
Grace, sophistication, performance, and comfort come together in a mix of lace, silk, and sporty technical materials, reflecting the dynamic essence of Lacoste. From the sensuality of black to the freshness of playground green, the color palette celebrates the triumphant essence of Lacoste.
In an ever-changing world, Lacoste FW24 remains a beacon of elegance and innovation, uniting generations and communities through its iconic codes. With this collection, Lacoste celebrates the victory of 1927 and looks confidently towards the future, maintaining its place as a reference in the universe of fashion, sport, and art.
